A history in high end furniture


When Alan Cryer initially built his house on site with his wife Lynn they envisioned a future together making high quality, hardwood furniture. The Acorns was the first additional building to be built in 1996 and it housed a workshop and showrooms open to the public selling custom made pieces designed to the individual's needs. As his work gained popularity Alan was able to reinvest in the business by building The Gables and The Courtyard as additional workshop space. Eventually The Oaks was built in 2003 specifically to showcase some of the endless furniture possibilities available to the public.


An eye for detail


As time passed Alan decided to put his eye for detail and practical skills to a new use and he and his wife worked with a building team to create The Clocktower. This was the first building specifically designed as offices. Alan invested in super fast fibre optic internet long before this was standard practice, bringing great technology to a beautiful location. As a businessman himself he recognised a need for out of town serviced offices which freed people up to do what they did best in a relaxing countryside environment. The need to spend hours on the phone chasing utility companies and maintenance men became a thing of the past for the professionals that took one of these high quality offices.


Recognising what is needed


With lots of easy free carparking and great security The Clocktower soon filled with happy people and Alan began to convert some of his other buildings to offices to meet a growing demand. One by one the buildings filled and Alan added The Elms and then The Pines to the list of available offices. Each building was designed to add something new or different to the available offices. Some had shared kitchens, others had private kitchens, some were upstairs with velux windows and some were ground floor with good disabled access. There are open plan offices, suites of offices or small, private offices.


Honesty and Quality


Alan held true to his values of honesty and quality and each office has it's own alarm system, controlled contactless keyfob access, opening windows, bright lighting and well maintained decor. As the business centre grew Alan and Lynn's children, Adam and Helen, began to help out more and more. Adam inherited his father's keen eye for detail and helps maintain the site to a high standard, and Helen works as business centre manager helping everything to run smoothly on a day to day basis.


The personal touch


Alan and Lynn continue to live on site and are fully involved with Oakwood Park. When you come for a viewing you will be shown around by a member of the family who will be pleased to show you currently available spaces. Easy to get hold of via the reception intercom phones the Oakwood Park Team are always on hand to help wherever they can, making Oakwood Park the perfect place to spend your working days.
